Door handles are among the most germ-infested objects in houses, hospitals, factories, and elderly homes.
By using our covered arms instead of our bare hands, we can avoid further passing on Corona. Our friends from materialise came up with a great base design for hands-free door openers.
We have taken this standard design and made it configurable, because even doors do not always look the same. This makes the idea accessible to more people and we can work together to counteract the spread of Corona.
Customize it to the geometry of your door handle and download the model for free.
The easy-to-use openers don’t require drilling holes or replacing your door's handle.
Setting it up is simple: all you have to do is fasten two 3D-printed pieces together with screws over your existing handle. Our recommendation is to additionally place a thin rubber strip between the door handle and the printed parts before you fasten them.
The models are applicable for Multi Jet Fusion (MJF), Laser Sintering (SLS), or Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) technologies.
In case you don’t have access to 3D printing capacity, we recommend our partner i.materialise to print the door openers using either the MJF or SLS technology.
